In their words
My curricular internship took place at Kimere, an international academic consulting firm. The placement was remote, and covered market analysis for Greece, Albania, Turkey and Jordan, as well as managing internship agreements with Italian universities.
A key part of the experience was my supervisor, Chiara Pedretti, whose constant availability and support made for a calm, flexible and highly stimulating place to work.
I consider the internship a fundamental part of my university path. It let me get close to the working world in concrete terms, and apply what I had learned during my studies.
The experience helped me understand myself better — my strengths, and the areas where I want to grow. I now have a clearer view of the skills I can bring to the table.
That is why the internship is not just an ending, but a starting point for my future professional experiences.
One thing that contributed significantly to how well the internship went was the relationship I built with my supervisor, and the working atmosphere inside the organisation.
From the very first days I found an environment built on trust and collaboration. That allowed me to feel progressively more confident in carrying out the work, and to gain more autonomy as the internship went on.
My manager trusted me from the start, gradually handing me tasks with a growing level of responsibility. At the same time I was able to put forward my own ideas, especially in producing content and organising the various activities. It made me feel part of the work, rather than someone simply assigned a set of predefined tasks.
Another thing I really valued was getting constant feedback. The work I did often became an opportunity to talk it through, understand any mistakes, and find better solutions together.
My supervisor was always willing to explain the more technical aspects of the bureaucratic procedures, and to give me useful pointers for improving the way I communicate.
I appreciate Kimere's international outlook and the field it works in, which lines up with my university career — my bachelor's and master's degrees — and represents an enormous opportunity to put into practice what I have learned and what I will go on learning.
I chose to send my application to Kimere because I see it as an excellent work opportunity and a chance to grow personally. The way the work flows matches what I have been able to learn and my own interests, and I appreciate the flexibility of remote working.
