What you're up against
Six authorities. One missed window is enough.
None of this is optional, and none of it waits for you. Each step has its own authority, its own form and its own window — and the windows do not line up. This is the part that decides whether you start the academic year or lose it.

Universitaly pre-registration
Every non-EU student has to pre-register on the Ministry's portal and name the exact course before a consulate will look at anything. Each university closes its own window on its own date.
If it slips Miss your university's window and the visa file can't be opened at all. The year is gone before it starts.

Recognition of your qualification
Your foreign diploma has to be made legible to the Italian system — a Dichiarazione di Valore in Loco from the consulate, or a comparability statement from CIMEA. Which one applies depends on your country and your university.
If it slips Start the wrong one and you pay twice and wait months for a document your university won't accept.

The consular file
The type D study visa is assembled document by document to a standard your consulate publishes and applies literally: financial means, health cover, accommodation, admission.
If it slips One item missing or in the wrong form and the appointment is spent. The next one can be weeks away.

Eight working days
The permesso di soggiorno has to be filed within 8 working days of landing, through a post office with a Sportello Amico counter, with the right kit filled in correctly.
If it slips Filed late, your stay is irregular while you're already enrolled, paying rent and sitting exams.

An address you don't have yet
The visa file wants a place to live in Italy. The market wants to meet you first, and private landlords often ask for a guarantee you can't produce from abroad.
If it slips This is where well-prepared applications stall — and where rental scams find their targets.

Fiscal code, residency registration at your municipality, health cover. None of them are hard on their own; all of them are in Italian, in person, and in a fixed order.
If it slips No fiscal code, no lease, no bank account, no health cover. The chain stops at the first missing link.

Why there's no price list on this page
Because an honest number depends on your citizenship, your university, your city and how much you've already done yourself. A public list would overcharge the student who needs two steps and undersell the one who needs eleven. On the call we look at your actual situation and give you a real figure — with no obligation to continue afterwards.

The hardest part
Housing is where a good plan usually breaks
Your visa file needs an address in Italy. The market wants to meet you first, and private landlords routinely ask for a guarantee — an Italian guarantor, a local payslip — that a student who hasn't arrived yet simply can't produce. That deadlock is the most common reason a well-prepared application still fails.
How we work around it

- We register the lease — a legal requirement, and a precondition for your residency

And what that isn't
- We're not a licensed estate agency and we don't act as one. We hold no listings and take no deposits on a landlord's behalf.
- We can't guarantee you a specific room. We can guarantee you won't sign anything we haven't read.
What no level includes
- We don't issue visas or residence permits. Those decisions belong to the consulate and the Questura, and anyone who tells you otherwise is selling you something that doesn't exist.
- We don't guarantee an outcome — on admission, on a visa, or on a specific room. We prepare your file to the standard each authority expects, and we file it inside the window.
- We don't replace a lawyer or an accountant. Where a case needs one, we say so instead of improvising.
